The Practice Manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration and Reception Teams

Our Reception and our Administration teams provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries.

Our administration team perform tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with the referrals generated by the clinicians, financial claims, managing patient records, and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Our receptionists can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. They make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses.

Wider Community Team

Community Midwives

Obstetric (antenatal) care is provided by the community midwives based at Reddish Vale Children’s Centre, in combination with your usual doctor. Appointments to see the midwife are made by calling 0161 480 6179. Booking appointments are best made between eight and ten weeks of pregnancy if possible. The midwife will advise you about antenatal classes later in your pregnancy.

Community Nurses

We have a team of nurses attached to the surgery who provide nursing care for patients unable to get to the surgery. This is usually arranged by your doctor or the hospital in the first instance. For ongoing matters, the team can be contacted on 0161 217 6569.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
